I miss my girlfriend

Yeah, I know, how pathetic is that, right? Well then don't read this post! But, really, I miss her. She's so nice and beautiful and she fills my days with joy. It's been a whole week now since I last saw her. :( But, she's in town for the weekend. :) But, I may not get to see her until Sunday, if even then. :( It's a mess. My cell phone service (Sprint) really sucks out here. I mean, it pretty much sucks in general because it doesn't have very good service anywhere, it doesn't have rollover minutes, and the plan has low minutes, late "free" nights, and the crappiest customer service I've ever come across (except maybe the customer service for Quark XPress, RIP). As a main point against them, they got my freakin' name wrong: Dallas Greedy. What the hell is that!? Dallas Greedy? Really? I told the guy like 400 times over the phone that my name is Dallas Reedy. With an "R" and only an "R". No "G"! Just an "R". Got it? R-E-E-D-Y. It's not that hard. But no. My online account says: "Welcome, Dallas Greedy." All of my bills in the mail are addressed to one "Dallas Greedy" who doesn't happen to exist; at least not at that address. But, anyways, back to my girlfriend. She pretty much hates long distance relationships because, as far as she knows, they always fail, or there's always some miscommunication which results in epic battles and fighting and yelling which are all things that she also hates. So, she kinda hates me a little bit right now. But I still want to see her! She's still my girlfriend. I still like her.

So honey, this message is for you:

"I like you. I miss you. I care about you and will try my best to make you happy. You are mine, and not for the losing; but for the keeping. I will do all that I can to keep you. You're beautiful, you're sweet, you're nice and kind and neat. You're all that I adore. You're all this...and more."

THP to share

That's right folks, this year's annual "Share-athon" hosted by Blue Mountain Television will be featuring the Tyson Haynes Project tonight (Monday, November 14) at 8 or 8:30. Somewhere in there. I mention this because I happened to be the drummer for said "project" and as such I am prone to advertise for, well myself! Anyways, don't have much time, I have to go grab my drums, load 'em into my girlfriend's car (more on the reason why later), and haul them over to the Blue Mountain Television studio in the Canaday Technology Center for a sound check. Whoo hoo.

get over it

I love my Intro to Video class. It just amazes me. I always thought I was just a graphic designer; that's all I'd do, that's all I'd know. But I really love video. I can't wait for next quarter when my girlfriend hosts the first annual (maybe) WWC Guerrilla Film Festival as her senior project. My senior project still needs to be…well, in existence. I really think it would be fun to create a sort of blog/portfolio site for graphic design, new media, and art majors, as well as photography minors and communication majors with emphasis in media (specifically video). It would just be cool to be able to make a business card or a résumé that could point to your online portfolio and have it look really cool and professional. It would also save a lot of time for plenty of students who would really like to have an online portfolio but may not have the web design skills or the time to create one. All they'd have to do is log in with their already assigned school username and password and then upload PDFs, PNGs, JPGs, GIFs, or maybe even SVGs of their created artwork, or MOVs, AVIs, or MPGs of their video or animation work. I mean, how cool would that be!? I could even create (with the help of much more web-savvy people than myself) an array of templates (much like this blogging site has) that students could choose from and even manipulate themselves (with much more watered down and easy-to-use editing fields, such as: background image, repeat, location, etc.). Think of the amount of time saved: log in, choose template, slightly alter template to make more personal, upload images or video files, type a few words about the creation of each, log out. Done. Portfolio. I just hope I have the time to create such a time-saving tool. If not, I can always create a prototype and present it to the department with a detailed assessment of how much time and money it would take them to develop it. But I would totally love to be the creator of it! That would just be cool!
